The Boston Ski Party's mission is to promote the sport of skiing and the enjoyment of winter sports to the African American community in Boston. The Ski Club began in 1974 and organizes ski trips to destinations here in New England and popular locations in the US, Canada, South America and Europe.

We attract a culturally diverse group of winter sports enthusiasts, and plan year-round athletic and social activities for our members. We are one of 84 member clubs that comprise the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS). We support NBS' mission: To identify, develop and support athletes of color who will WIN international and Olympic winter sports competitions representing the United States.     It’s time to think about ski season.  Below you will find information on two major trips coming up for our club.  We need trip leaders and a note from you on your interest in participating in these trips and getting housing through the club.

    NBS Eastern Region Early Season Warm-up
    Snowbird, Utah - December 5-12, 2009

    Housing for this trip has opened up. We need a trip leader for this trip ASAP.  And a note from you on whether you are interested in attending this event.We're returning to an Early Out Favorite - Snowbird Resort in Salt Lake City, Utah.

    National Brotherhood of Skiers Ski Summit
    Winter Park, Colorado
    Saturday, February 27, 2010 – Saturday, March 6, 2010



    Summit Housing will open up at  noon June 1.  We need a trip leader for this event to put the packages together. In the mean time, we would like a heads up on your intent.  Housing is very limited. So first some first serve!  
    Winter Park Resort received 378 inches of snowfall during the 08/09 season and has the most consistent snow season after season. 25 lifts including 2 High Speed Six Person Chairlifts, 4 Triple Chairlifts, 7 High-Speed Express Quads, 6 Double Chairlifts, 3 Surface Lifts and 3 Magic Carpets. The Zephyr Express is modified to accommodate 20 gondola cabins for dinner service to The Lodge at Sunspot.

    TRIP LEADERS NEEDED


    Duties will include organizing accommodations and lift/registration packages for those interested in participating in the trip.  Boston Ski Party offers an incentive package for those willing to take on the responsibility of organizing a trip for the club.  Depending on the number of people you get to participate, you’ll earn credits towards the cost of your trip.  We have a trip leader guide and a Trip Director to help you organize the trip.  If interested in leading this or any other ski trips, please send an e-mail to our Trip Director, Nike Okediji at okedijin@aol.com
